Since its founding in 1991, Foster Employment Law has developed and implemented successful election campaigns against the Teamsters Union, Hospital and Health Care Workers Union, Service Employees International Union, United Domestic Workers, and Printers Union on behalf of companies ranging from 20 to 10,000 employees.
In its representation of employers working with unionized work forces, the firm advises and counsels employers on mandatory subjects of bargaining and negotiates collective bargaining agreements, as well as represents management in grievance arbitrations and related cases.
The firm counsels clients through labor disputes, such as strikes and picketing, and through reductions in force. The firm also represents clients before the National Labor Relations Board ("NLRB"), defending and prosecuting unfair labor practice charges.
Michael Foster, the managing attorney for the firm, has acted as lead negotiator for employers in numerous collective bargaining agreement negotiations, including against the Automotive Machinists Union, Industrial Painters Union, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Service Employees International Union Local 250, United Domestic Workers, and Service Employees International Union Local 535.
